Terms of Service
Please review these terms carefully before signing up for dog waste removal with WeScoop.
Dog Waste Removal Service
WeScoop will remove dog waste from your yard based on your chosen schedule: 2 times a week, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Charges are based on the number of dogs, the frequency of scooping, and the size of the area being scooped. Most starting prices are calculated for average yards up to 1/8th acre. Larger yards or front yards are subject to additional fees based on size. WeScoop reserves the right to change the quoted price on site if we believe the information provided to us through our request quote form was inaccurate. Unless otherwise noted, an initial cleaning fee will be charged at scheduling.
Yard Access
You are responsible for ensuring WeScoop has access to the area needing cleanup and that aggressive dogs are secured. Many customers use padlocks with a code for us to access and secure the yard. A key, garage/gate code, or an unlocked gate also works. If we cannot access the yard due to a locked gate or a dog, we will skip service for that week and resume on your next scheduled visit.
Rock Landscapes
If waste removal occurs in a yard with rocks, an extra $4 per visit may apply.
Leaves, Debris, and Tall Grass
We aim to clean your yard thoroughly. However, finding waste can be challenging in tall grass or a yard with leaves and debris. If the grass is tall, some waste may be missed. We will likely catch it on the next visit. If you notice excessive waste missed, please inform us as soon as possible, and we will address it. If yard is not being maintained, and grass is deemed to be too long to scoop, we'll let you know and try again the following week. Whether or not a yard is considered to be maintained is up to the sole discretion of the on-site technician. Credit will not be given for skipped scoopings where yards are not maintained. We will perform retroactive scoopings to "catch-up" a yard, but if a yard is not maintained for an extended length of time (i.e., three weeks or more) you may be charged a one-time clean-up fee.
Inclement Weather
We operate in most weather, including rain and cold, as long as conditions are safe. Severe weather such as thunderstorms, flooding, extreme cold or heat, or snow accumulation may delay service. Since WeScoop is a monthly subscription service, we do not offer refunds for missed service due to weather. We will remove accumulated waste on the following visit. If an urgent cleaning is required before the next visit, please call, and we will try to accommodate based on our schedule. If conditions are too muddy, we may delay service to prevent yard damage.
Holidays
WeScoop observes Thanksgiving and the week between Christmas and New Year's as holidays without service. If your scheduled day falls on a major holiday, we’ll skip that week and clean the following week, accounting for two weeks’ worth of work. Regular charges will still apply. Bi-weekly service clients may experience up to four weeks between pickups due to holidays or weather. We recommend weekly service to avoid extended gaps.
Billing
An active credit or debit card is required for all services. Monthly billing occurs on the 1st of each month; your first few services will be pro-rated if they don't start on the 1st. If payment fails, service will pause until resolved. An initial cleanup fee will apply if service is paused for over 30 days. Additional charges may apply for:
- Rock cleanup ($4/visit)
- Large yards (based on size)
- Front yard cleanup (based on size)
- Deck, patio, or sidewalk cleanup ($7/visit)
- Regular loose stool cleanup ($1.50/pile)
Monthly Charges
Recurring services are billed on the 1st of each month in advance. One-time or initial cleanups require payment immediately after completion. A credit card is required on file for all services.
Important: Normally, for recurring services, your initial bill will include the first cleanup plus charges for the remainder of that month. Regular billing begins the following month.
Example: John starts weekly cleanups on March 15th at $120 per month. His initial spring cleaning is $140. On March 15, he will be charged for the initial service plus cleanups for March 22nd and March 29th.
- Initial Service: $140
- March Services (2 sessions): $60
- Total: $200
Future billing:
- April 1st: $120
- May 1st: $120
- June 1st: $120
If payment isn’t received before your first monthly cleanup, your account will be placed on hold until the balance is settled. Monthly charges are non-refundable. If you cancel, we’re happy to complete services for the remainder of the paid period.
Price Calculation
Because not all months have exactly four weeks, recurring monthly payments are calculated as follows: For weekly service: (Price per week) x (52 Weeks) / (12 Months) = Price. For twice a week service: (Price per week) x (104 Weeks) / (12 Months) = Price. For bi-weekly service: (Price per 2 weeks) x (26 Weeks) / (12 Months) = Price.
Recurring Service
Recurring service occurs when we scoop your yard on a regular basis: either twice a week, once a week, bi-weekly, or once a month. Regardless of type, service is pre-paid on the 1st of each month. Once started, recurring service continues unless requested to stop. For promotional purposes, "recurring service" means pre-paying for at least one full month of weekly service, plus any pro-rated visits that occur before the full month begins.
Deposits
For all clients, we require a credit card on file. For one time cleanups, we require a small deposit, which must be paid before work is done. Deposits are applied to invoice totals. For example, if your invoice total for a one-time clean is $150, and your deposit is $20, then your total bill will be $150 (total) - $20 (deposit) = $130 (left owing, once job is completed). Deposits hold your position in our schedule and they are always non-refundable. Amount owing (i.e., total - deposit) will be deducted from your card on file shortly after scooping occurs.
Payment Process
We offer a client portal for handling transactions. We’ll create a client portal profile for you following your conversation with a representative. Your login credentials/link will then be emailed to you. Registering takes less than two minutes. Within your client portal account, you can access all paid invoices, service records, and securely link a credit or debit card. Once your card is added, we’ll process payments and send receipts for your records.
Note: Ensure that your card is linked before we visit your property. If your payment method is not active by that time, we’ll attempt to contact you or knock on your door. If we cannot reach you, your service will be rescheduled for the next available slot, which may be several weeks away depending on the season. For assistance linking your card, call us at 905-981-8720. All payments are made securely through Jobber (getjobber.com), so, unless you want or require direct assistance, WeScoop never has access to your credit card information at any time.
Scooping Arrival
Our schedules are designed for efficiency, which means we don’t provide exact arrival times. Routes are optimized daily and run from 7 AM to sunset. Normally, you’ll receive two reminder messages--including a text 10 to 20 minutes before our arrival. Your service day remains consistent weekly, and any changes will be communicated to you in advance.
Home Presence
Your presence isn’t necessary. Please ensure that we have easy access to the yard.
Dogs In The Yard
Dogs must not be in the yard during the service to 1. prevent your dog from accidentally escaping; and, 2. ensure the safety of our technicians. If circumstances demand, we will make an exception for this rule, so that we scoop with your dog in the yard, but it will require an additional conversation, and possibly a meet-and-greet with your pet. Our team loves pets; they inspired us to start this company!
Scooping Completion
Immediately after cleanup, you’ll receive an email or text with a photo of your secured gate (if you have one) and a work details checklist.
Equipment Cleanliness
All tools (and boots) are sprayed with disinfectant/sanitizer after every job to prevent cross-contamination.
Deodorizing
The deodorization of "problem spots" is included as part of all recurring service packages. "Problem spots" are determined solely at the discretion of the on-site technician. When/if they are discovered, they will be sprayed with non-toxic, natural deodorizing spray. This being said, deodorizing an entire yard (not just "problem spots") involves an additional expense, and is not included as part of our regular service package.
